May Update

May stayed busy with Masonic Youth meetings - DeMolay, Rainbow, and Bethel. Jennifer was installing Marshal at Bethel 67's spring installation, and both kids worked a DeMolay/Rainbow booth at the Multnomah Fair.

Bryan performed the Ceremony of Light for an Eastern Star event and for a special night at Friendship Lodge.

Earlier this month, they led the annual induction for the ORCA National Honor Society. As in previous years, it was held at the Wilsonville Shrine Center. 

Conclave Installation

At the Formal Banquet, Tigard Chapter was named Chapter of the Year, and Susan was recognized as Advisor of the Year.

After the banquet, Bryan was officially installed as State Master Councilor, and several boys were installed as members of the State Cabinet.

At the end of installation, Bryan performed the Ceremony of Light. Afterwards he posed for pictures, and there was a dance.

Conclave!

This weekend, Oregon DeMolay held its annual convention at a hotel in Keizer. The theme was "Soaring to New Heights". Thursday night was formal opening, followed by the initiatory degree.

On Friday, we visited the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of the Spruce Goose.

After dinner Friday night the boys performed the DeMolay degree, then had a casino night.

Today we played basketball, soccer, and dodgeball. Jennifer, Bryan, and the SMC of Idaho modeled Bryan's T-shirts.

Washington DeMolay

This weekend, we took Bryan up to the Great Wolf Lodge in Washington to attend their annual DeMolay Convention.

He marched into their opening ceremony with the officers of other jurisdictions.

Last Wednesday, Tigard DeMolay prepared dinner for the Masons, and cleaned up afterwards.

Shrine Hospital

Last weekend, Bryan attended Conclave in Boise, Idaho.

Meanwhile, Susan and Jennifer traveled to Fresno, California to attend California's Grand Assembly, with several other members of Oregon Rainbow. This Saturday Jenn attended the Metro East Rainbow Official Visit at Lentz Lodge in Portland.Yesterday was the Dedication of the remodel of the Portland Shrine Hospital. We toured the hospital and met the Imperial Potentate.

Later we watched as the Grand Lodge officers performed the cornerstone ceremony and the Shriners gave speeches.

Tigard Orenomah DeMolay

Last Friday night, Tigard DeMolay had a fun night at Bullwinkle's Family Fun Center in Wilsonville. The kids rode go-karts and bumper boats, played lazer tag and mini-golf, and had a pizza feed.

Last night, Bryan's term as Master Councilor of Tigard DeMolay ended and he installed a new MC to run the chapter for the next six months.

Jennifer was installed as Chapter Sweetheart.

Grand Court

  

On the first Tuesday of this month, Tigard DeMolay voted in five new members.

Last Saturday, we headed down to Salem with a bunch of DeMolay and Job's Daughters for the annual DJR Statewide Installation. Bryan lead the DeMolay in an initiation of 15 new members, while Jennifer was 5th Messenger for the Grand Bethel. After the degrees, the kids joined other Bethels, Chapters, and Assemblies for a dance and talent show.

This weekend we traveled to Canyonville for the Order of the Amaranth's annual session, called Grand Court. Bryan performed the flower talk at Opening, and gave remarks as State Master Councilor of Oregon DeMolay.

He attended the formal banquet on Friday night, and sat with the heads of other Masonic Bodies in the State at the installation on Saturday night. When we weren’t attending formal functions, we enjoyed swimming in the pool and visiting with friends.
