More Masonic Youth Events

Our kids continue to stay busy with Job's Daughters and DeMolay. Besides going to their regular Bethel and Chapter meetings, at the end of last month we went to a Halloween Party at Bethel 67, and on Friday a DeMolay installation at St Helens. Bryan served as installing officer.
Saturday was a joint Bethel OV and initiation, at which Jennifer was 5th messenger.
That night Tigard Chapter had a fundraiser dance. It was pretty well attended, and everyone seemed to have a good time.
Yesterday we helped Bethel 67 with a bottle drive.

Shrine Food Caravan

Last Monday, Susan and Bryan drove down to North Bend, to attend the Official Visit for Tioga Chapter of DeMolay. On Thursday, while I went through the Scottish Rite degrees in Baker City, Bryan presided at the OV for Milwaukie Chapter.
This weekend we participated in the annual Shrine Food Caravan, which benefits the Shriners Hospital in Portland. Shrine Clubs from Central and Eastern Oregon gather food and then drive it in caravans to the Shrine Center in Wilsonville, where the DeMolay load it onto big trucks.
Saturday night, after the trucks were loaded, a bunch of DeMolay and their advisors went to Bullwinkle's Fun Center. It was a little wet for miniature golf, but some of the kids braved the rain to ride go-karts and bumper boats. They also played lazer tag and arcade games, and ate pizza.
On Sunday, a smaller crew went up to the hospital to unload the trucks into the kitchen storerooms.

Masonic Youth Events

Today we attended a trio of Masonic Youth events. We began our day by driving south to Albany, where we attended a Joint Official Visit of Bethels 11, 26, 53, and 67. The Daughters initiated four new girls, and Jennifer was Third Messenger.
We then drove north to Salem for a reception for the Grand Worthy Associate Advisor of Oregon Rainbow.
In the evening we headed up to North Portland for the installation of Peninsula Chapter of DeMolay. Bryan served as installing Senior Councilor.

On Tuesday, Bryan and I headed down to Medford to attend the State Master Councilor's Official Visit to Medford Chapter.
Then on Wednesday we attended the OV at Grants Pass.
While Bryan and I were in southern Oregon, Susan and Jenn attended a meeting of Bethel 67 in Portland. Last night I went down to Lebanon for the Grandmaster’s Official Visit with East Linn Lodge.

Miss Oregon Job's Daughter

We continue to stay busy, mostly with Masonic stuff. Saturday night, we attended the Miss Oregon Job's Daughter pageant, and a Past Honored Queen of Bethel 11 was crowned as this year's Miss.
Friday, the kids attended an open house for Oregon Connections Academy in Scio. They manned a booth for the Honor Society. On Thursday, we met the Milwaukie Chapter at the Nickel Arcade, where a boy turned in a petition.
Tonight Jenn attended the meeting of Bethel 66 in Tigard.

Grand Receptions

In addition to attending the meetings of Bryan's and Jennifer's youth groups, we've also been busy attending other Masonic events. Last weekend, we traveled to Redmond for the Grand Master's reception, where they visited with the Grand Associate Advisor of Rainbow.
Saturday, Bryan and I drove to Astoria for an Occasional Grand Lodge, and that night Susan took the kids to the Grand Worthy Advisor's reception.
Sunday, Tigard DeMolay practiced ritual and enjoyed refreshments. Tonight they obligated a new member. Monday night I went down to Woodburn Lodge for the Grandmaster’s Official Visit.

Masonic Youth

Bryan and Jennifer have been spending the first couple of weeks of September attending DeMolay and Job's Daughters meetings. Jennifer has visited Bethels 66 and 67, and was Senior Princess for an initiation at Bethel 10.
This weekend we hosted a sleepover for Bethel 67, and tonight she helped Bethel 4 with an initiation. Bryan is continuing to serve as Master Councilor for Chapters in Tigard and Milwaukie, and, as State Senior Councilor, attended an Official Visit at Peninsula Chapter and a leadership training at DeMolay International in Kansas City.
I’ve been attending OV’s and other Grand Lodge events.  Earlier this month, Bryan and I drove to Grants Pass for an Occasional Grand Lodge, and stopped in North Bend so Bryan could serve as Installing Officer for Tioga Chapter's fall installation.
